“Movies are like a modern fireplace, where we can all sit around and partake in a story. Where people from all walks of life can come together with the same heart. To make movies my kids can watch is one of the coolest things.” This sentiment, shared by actor Jesse Hutch at the 2025 MOVIEGUIDE AWARDS is the truest representation of what the Movieguide Awards are all about. The awards show, created by Dr. Ted Baehr began as a way to celebrate the entertainment industries contribution to hopeful, inspiring family-friendly, faith-filled stories. This year marks the 32nd annual celebration, which will air on Great American Family on March 6, 2025 and Pure Flix on March 7, 2025.
The Movieguide awards bring together actors and entertainment executives from all backgrounds, with one common denominator – the belief that faith is present and powerful. They have found this to be true in their own daily lives, but also in the programming they share with audiences. In 2024, in the United States and Canada, movies with strong Christian content and values earned nearly $2.4 billion dollars. Movieguide is the number one family review service for movies and television shows.

The awards celebrate excellence in writing, directing, acting and most importantly telling beautiful stories that teach viewers valuable lessons. This year’s awards show, held in the heart of Hollywood at the Avalon Theater, like every year will open and close in prayer, a beautiful moment for attendees to reflect on the work that brought them to this moment. Celebrity guests in attendance include legendary music icons Don McLean and Pat Boone, Veteran supporters and actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, as well as faith and family on-screen regulars Candace Cameron Bure, Cameron Mathison, Jen Lilley, Jesse Hutch, Cindy Busby, Julia Riley, Joel Smallbone, Mario Lopez, Roma Downey and many more.

Dr. Ted Baehr said of Downey, “Roma reminds audiences that we’re never alone. God is always present.” His passion for sharing programming that resonates with so many is palpable. The love and sense of community in the room and on the red carpet proves that most of the people who talk the talk also walk the walk. Tune into Great American Family, March 6, 2025or Pure Flix on March 7, 2025 to watch the 32nd Annual Movieguide Awards and see which of your favorite stars will take home their very own Baehr statuette.
Movieguide is now on radio, television and online at movieguide.org, where you can find their yearly guide on faith and family programming.
